| 1)
Carefully remove the
cover from the well casing. 2)
Add approximately one gallon of household
bleach into the open well casing.
3) Attach a hose to
an outside water faucet and run the water
back into the well casing.
4) Once the odor of
chlorine is noted coming through the
hose, flush the inside of the casing
thoroughly before shutting off the water.
5) Remove the hose
from the casing and replace the sanitary
well seal being careful not to get dirt
or debris into the well.
6) Run the water
through all of the taps in the house
until you can smell the chlorine.
7) Shut off all taps
and allow the water to set overnight.
8) The next day,
remove all faucet aspirators and bypass
any water filters before flushing all
taps.
9) In some water
supplies, the chlorine may remain in the
water for a few days, so don't be
concerned about a lingering odor.
10) Good Luck!
